Release of Butterflies
Activities for Children

Spohr Gardens has a butterfly garden for raising and releasing butterflies. There are greenhouses to raise butterflies from eggs to pupae. The garden has expanded its blooming plantings to provide nectar to pollinators.

Over 200 Monarchs, 20 Spicebush Swallowtails, about 20 White Cabbage, and 10 Painted Lady butterflies have been raised and released. We have numerous Tiger Swallowtails, Red-Spotted Purples, Silver-spotted Skippers, Hummingbird Moths, and Pearl Crescents visit the flowers during July, August, and September.

Open 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily.
Free – public welcome!
